Born Nearly a Century Too Late

January 9, 2009 at 4:00 AM (Musings) (, )

It’s taken me about four hours of Sinatra/Kelly films to figure out that I was born far too late.  I’ve missed the era of innocent mischief, classic beauty (with those crystal blue eyes), dancing cheek-to-cheek, songs that are actually sung, and comedic faux pas in film.

Okay, I’m sure life wasn’t that simply entertaining in the ’40s, and in reality, I guess I’m happy with my world of ambiguity and relationships built on instant messaging (a little cynical there, but there’s some truth in it).  It is a delightful release to pretend for a while, though, even if it is only for a few hours in front of the telly.
